Cookies

In plain English

Essential cookies make the service work — logins, security, your booking in progress. Everything else is opt-in, and you can change your mind anytime through Cookie Settings.

1.What cookies actually are

Small text files your browser stores so the service remembers you between clicks.

Cookies are small text files that websites store in your browser. They let us recognise your session (so you stay logged in), remember your preferences (language, region), and — if you allow it — help us understand how the service is used so we can improve it.

We also use similar technologies (local storage, SDKs in our mobile app) that work the same way. For simplicity, we call all of these "cookies" in this Policy.

2.The categories we use

Four categories — only one runs without your permission.

  • Strictly necessary (no consent required, by law) — login sessions, security checks, load balancing, the cookie banner itself.
  • Preferences — your language, region, selected tailor.
  • Analytics & performance (opt-in) — usage metrics, A/B testing, performance monitoring. Helps us build a better service.
  • Marketing & retargeting (opt-in) — currently not used. If we ever turn these on, we'll ask first.

3.What we set

A short list — we keep it minimal.

In practice

Session cookies disappear when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay until they expire or you clear them.

4.Third-party cookies

Trusted providers (analytics, payment, support tools) may set cookies under their own policies — only with your consent.

Some of our service partners set their own cookies when their tools load on our platform. We only load non-essential third-party tools after you give consent, and we record that consent. The current list of third parties is available on request from privacy@syom.io.

5.Our mobile app

The app uses SDKs (cookies' app-world equivalent) for the same purposes — and the same consent rules apply.

In our mobile app, similar technologies (mobile SDKs) operate for analytics, crash reporting, and messaging. You can manage your preferences in the app's privacy settings.

6.Managing your preferences

Open Cookie Settings any time. Or use your browser controls — just know that blocking essentials may break the service.

  • Use the cookie banner on your first visit, or open Cookie Settings from the footer any time after.
  • Browser controls let you block or delete cookies system-wide. Heads-up: blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent the service from working (you won't be able to log in or complete a booking).
  • You can withdraw consent for non-essential cookies at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

7.Changes to this Policy

We update this Policy as our tech stack changes. Material changes are signposted.

We update this Cookie Policy as our technology evolves. Material changes are signposted on the platform, and the cookie table above is kept current.

8.Contact

Cookie and privacy questions go to the same inbox.

If you only read one thing

Essentials run automatically (logins, security). Everything else is opt-in, manageable from Cookie Settings, and reversible anytime.
